Chamber of Commerce Installs New Officers

Updated: May 5, 2019

The Valley Stream Chamber of Commerce installed a slate of new officers and presented two awards at its 60th annual installation dinner at the Sand Castle in Franklin Square on Sept. 24.

After eight years as president, Debbi Gyulay was succeeded by Valley Stream attorney Dominick Minerva. Gyulay received the Special Recognition Award for her tenure, which began unexpectedly when she was asked to assume the role because the then-president stepped down. At the dinner, she was installed as executive vice president.

Darryl Granum, owner of Strong Side Studios in Valley Stream, received the Business Achievement Award. His recording studio, which offers several other entertainment services, celebrated 10 years in the village this year. With his family present, he thanked the chamber and paid homage to his mother for supporting his dream. She passed away two years ago.

Granum is a past member of the chamber’s Board of Directors. Chamber members Jaime Grasso, Lisa Norwich and Jules Rabin were also sworn in for new terms. Grasso was installed as treasurer, Norwich as secretary and Rabin as vice president.
